Family Opportunities

REGISTRATION IS CLOSED FOR 2020

Using Time To Enhance Relationships

Canadian families are are more stressed than ever. When the pandemic first hit we had to be concerned about how to meet the immediate needs of our children, parents, partners and ourselves. We need to now look at how this time can be used to engage with our families and make meaning out of the many layers of this potential trauma. This web site will host resources including blogs provided by experienced family helpers.

Maritime Play Therapy Centre  will be sponsoring an online summit for families entitled Canadian Wellness 4 Families. Families can log in May 8 at 5:00 pm, Atlantic time  to May 11th , 2020  at 5:00 p.m Atlantic time . and participate in workshops that are pre-recorded but hosted by helpers from across Canada.  There will also be a live opening and closing to the summit (guest speakers to be announced).  Conference information is being posted as it is received. There are already webinar descriptions under the webinar tab.

"It’s a stressful time for everyone, worldwide, but in the midst of it all, children’s development doesn’t hit the pause button. We all want to build up the well-being of children and families in our communities. That's why as a society we need to support caregivers everywhere. This includes caregiving in homes, schools and childcare centres. Together, this will allow us to weather storms we come up against now or in the future
